Barber Medical Legal Nurse Consulting offers affordable continuing education (CE) courses approved by the Florida Board of Nurses. The CE courses are related to risk management in perinatal care, and are aligned with NICHD, AWHONN, and ACOG. Implementation of learned concepts from our continuing education courses promote positive birth outcomes, while reducing medical legal risk for hospital systems, providers, and nurses.
Recorded, and live multidisciplinary learning sessions, and microlearning sessions (< 30 minutes) cover medical legal issues for hospital systems, outpatient Ob/Gyn office settings, insurance companies, physicians, midwives, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, attorney’s, and paralegals. Whether you’re seeking continuing nursing education credit, or simply looking to enhance your understanding of perinatal care, and risk management, our learning sessions are available for your learning needs.
Nurses (nurses, nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives, clinical nurse specialists, certified nurse anesthetists) who complete CE courses, and course evaluations, will earn CE credit. Other professions are eligible to complete the available courses, however, credit is limited at this time to nursing CEUs.
The goal of our educational program is to support multidisciplinary team-based learning. Our objective is to educate the multidisciplinary perinatal team, and other specialties, in an effort to promote positive birth outcomes, reduce the risk of recurrence of errors, while reducing the number of obstetrical related medical malpractice lawsuits. We are committed to providing our learners with brief, memorable content supported by real-life case study reviews when applicable, that conclude with key take-aways.
